Hamlin Takes 3rd Bronze of World Cup Season; Finishes 4th in Year-End Point Standings

Almost flawless. That’s how Erin Hamlin described her two runs in Cesana, Italy, on Sunday as she pulled off a near-perfect week.
Hamlin, the 23-year-old from Remsen, closed out a highly-successful World Cup season with her third bronze medal for USA Luge. Now she’s rolling on to the Olympics.

Chris Destito: an Admired Icon In Rome, Griffiss, the Mohawk Valley

Wherever one turns -- from the city of Rome and throughout the Mohawk Valley, one will find cherished memories of Chris Destito.

Destito, 54, a prominent Rome businessman, died at Faxton-St. Luke’s Hospital Center in Utica on Jan. 21 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was the husband of New York Assemblywoman RoAnn Destito (D-116, Rome).

Erin Hamlin Prepares for Final World Cup Luge of the Season

Will Erin Hamlin hit the trifecta this year?

The member of the USA Luge team from Remsen has reached the podium twice in the 2009-2010 season, and has a chance to add to her reputation when the eighth and last World Cup race of the regular season is held Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 30-31, in Cesana Pariol, Italy.
